Fruitful work of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine at VIII EUROSAI Congress

The participants of VIII Congress EUROSAI summed up the activity of European SAIs in 2008-2011. During four days more than 40 activity reports of the EUROSAI working groups and task forces were approved and joint reports concerning conducted cooperation and coordinated audits were signed. Nearly 20 reports were heard about urgent and most important topics to which great attention has been given for last 3 years.

VIII Congress of European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) began its work in Lisbon. During Congress the XXXVII EUROSAI Governing Board Meeting was held. Delegation of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine chaired by the Chairman Dr. Valentyn Symonenko also participated in this important meeting.

On April 20th 2011 in Kiev TORO Creative Union, Ukrainian partner of Transparency International (an international NGO to fight corruption and investigation of corruption in the world), and the Agency for Legislative Initiatives presented their study on the National Integrity System of Ukraine 2011. The main aims of this research were to assess the legal framework and practices of key institutions in Ukraine responsible for preventing and combating corruption and propose clear and realistic recommendations for a complete reform to combat corruption in Ukraine.

Prevention of disasters and catastrophes in the focus of III EUROSAI Task Force Meeting

On March 23, 2011, III Meeting of the EUROSAI Task Force on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes was closed in Moscow, the Russian Federation. The Meeting aim was to summarize and report on performance during 2009-2011, as well as results of conducted cooperative and national audits on the funds put by governments to prevention and consequences elimination of disasters and catastrophes.
